About me

I am a BIMM Berlin University graduate with a BA (Hons) in Popular Music Performance specialising in Vocals.

My time at BIMM allowed me to explore many different career ventures including, but not exclusively, composition, session recording, performance, vocal coaching, and artistry. I found my niche in session work as a lead and backing vocalist, as well as in artistry and performance. 

My core skills

Vocal Delivery

Through mastering various vocal techniques, I am able to evoke complex emotions in my singing, which is central to my strength as a versatile and expressive performer.

Performance

I consistently deliver dynamic performances, whether supporting others, leading a band, or taking the stage solo. Emotional expression is a huge part of my artistry, and it is something that I can offer as a session singer.

Composition & lyricism

My aim whenever writing texts in music, is to create an authentic and nuanced narrative that resonates with listeners on a deep emotional level.

Vocal arrangements

I develop vocal arrangement that are interesting, complex, satisfying, and supportive in a greater composition. I specialise in composing these parts in musical styles such as Gospel, Soul, R&B, and Hip Hop. But when the occasion arises, I enjoy arranging harmonies in other genres. 

my work as a Backing vocalist

I have vast experience in session singing. In the summer and fall of 2024 I was a touring backing vocalist for Kelvin Jones, a well established pop artist based in Berlin. His live set entailed a lively spirit of entertainment, that I reflected in my own performance. Additionally, I sang on multiple tracks from Kelvin Jones’ latest album, THE RUDE AWAKENING OF MR BIG JUICE.

I have also supported other local artists in Berlin in my session work, such as DAR!O, a Neo soul/R&B artist in live and studio settings.

Lead singer of Soul / R&B Band, Akari

After forming our 5 piece band at the end of 2022, Akari started composing original music, and performing at various venues across Berlin, such as Lido, Kantine am Berghain, Privatclub, Pfefferberg, and Kesselhaus. Our debut EP, Eyes to the Clouds came out at the end of 2024 and is available on all platforms. We are currently producing our debut album, coming out in the summer of 2026. The first single of that album, I See It Now, is out on all platforms.

My Solo project

My upcoming EP Kid at Heart is my very first body of work as a solo artist. The thematic topics revolve around loss, endurance, and perseverance in the musical context of Alternative, Contemporary R&B, Soul, pop, and folk. I started the process of writing and recording at the end of 2023 as I was facing the aftermath of a traumatic event. The songs in Kid at Heart reflect incredible vulnerability in its arrangements, raw vocal delivery, and nuanced lyrics.
